Gone Shopping Back Soon

Oxford was miserable without you - like being in a shop full of the most beautiful clothes, but without a penny to spend on them. I nearly didn't go back after Christmas, until Father gave one of his speeches about 'roads hard travelled' - it was all jolly inspirational!

And then he told me that he wasn't going to fund me to flirt around the shops in London for all eternity... and mother winced somewhat at the word 'flirt' but it did the trick, and I went at once to instruct Katie to pack my trunk.

So, back I went: I got my hockey colours, and Father his degree.

Hurrah - champagne all round!

But all along, it was as if I were trapped inside some strange, subtextual void - in a chapter that had actually finished ever-so-many pages beforehand.

Not fun.

And though I'm sure that such a void would be very-much your sort of thing - most especially if it really were of both the strange and subtextual persuasion - it was honestly rather a long way from being mine!

So, like I said...

Not fun.

Didn't happen.

Gone shopping.
